Appearance: Hades is darkly handsome, swarthy in complexion with dark brown hair usually kept neatly slicked back even though its length and messy texture would afford a more naturally daring disheveled hairstyle, and dark, penetrating green-gold eyes beneath a dark and thick brow. He's tall and powerfully muscled, preferring to layer his near perfect physique in power suits in public, though, in private, he prefers clothing more comfortable and revealing. He has a tattoo on the bicep of each shoulder.
Family: Overthrew his own parents to claim rulership. Siblings Demeter, Hestia, Hera, Poseidon and Zeus still reside on Mount Olympus, though Hades has no contact with them as the Realm of the Greek Gods seems to be cut off from the rest of the Realms as well as the mortal world.
Personality: Hades has a calm, playful demeanor about him, giving him a startling and unsettling edge because of his forceful charisma and overpowering presence. He's naturally seductive, with a great sense of humor and a smoldering intensity that makes the ladies melt. And he does enjoy the ladies, though, of all the Olympians, he managed to remain the most faithful to his consort, Persephone, out of his pure desire and respect for her.
History: Hades assisted his brothers Poseidon and Zeus in overthrowing their kin, the Titans, claiming leadership of of Mount Olympus. The three drew straws to determine which kingdoms they would rule: Poseidon claimed the Oceans; Zeus, the Skies; Hades received the least desirable, the Underworld.
He grew despondent, depressed by his line of work, and lonely down amongst the lost souls by himself. It was during this time he first spotted and instantly loved Persephone, picking flowers in a field. He abducted her and brought him with her to his domain, using trickery to make her stay with him. Time passed and their union grew to be a happy one for some time; if their love was not of the truest kind, their infatuation and attraction certainly was. But his nature was as such as all the Olympians and the infidelities were inevitable.
Slowly but surely, over the passage of time, the Olympians' strength began to wane, the found themselves increasingly cut off from the world of mortals, like a scab growing over a wound, thinly at first and then gaining in strength. Meetings were held on Mount Olympus, arguments arose, blame was uselessly doled out.
Hades was forced to cease his affairs with mortal women, to the obvious pleasure of his wife, and so he conducted his adulteries with the souls living peacefully within the Elysian Fields, finding in them at last a connection driven by his loneliness and he would speak with them as often as carry on with sexual relations, longing for deeper bonds to keep his profound isolation at bay.
Worst of all, one day Persephone disappeared without a trace, the last thread of his comfort and companionship was severed.
Feeling obsolete, Hades wandered from his domain, finding a loophole rumored to lead into the mortal world. His visits back and forth between This Side and the Realms became frequent. Once he had an understanding of the worlds he found himself in, he quickly rose to the top. But he found himself still unsatisfied. Meeting once more with a soul who had given him comfort in Elysium, now living again among the mortals thanks to his wife's enthusiasm to be rid of her, he formed a sort of escort service for those of the Realms who had no one on This Side with whom to relate as he had once been and would always be seeking solace.
Still, his dreams became dark and soon, he found that his actions were no longer his own, as if he were being controlled by some inner force, whispering in his ear, compelling him to do its bidding...

*The abode of the Gods is rather strange when compared with the other Realms. It dwells in its own “bubble” so to speak, and most of the Realms dwellers doubt its existence, or think all of its inhabitants have died/disappeared.
